# 6.1.2 Using web3.js

An alternative approach uses web3.js, which provides similar functionality.

Install web3:

```
npm install web3
```

Create a connection:

```
const Web3 = require("web3");
const web3 = new Web3("https://rpc.frequencychain.org");
```

To enable transactions, a wallet must be added:

```
const account = web3.eth.accounts.privateKeyToAccount("YOUR_PRIVATE_KEY");
web3.eth.accounts.wallet.add(account);
```

This allows the application to sign and send transactions to the FreCx network.
