# 4.1 Installing a Web3 Wallet
To begin interacting with FreCx, a browser-based wallet such as MetaMask must be installed. MetaMask is widely adopted and fully compatible with EVM-based networks, including FreCx.
The installation process begins by navigating to the official MetaMask website. Users should ensure that they are accessing the correct URL to avoid malicious copies. From the download page, the appropriate browser extension (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) can be selected and installed.
Once installed, the wallet becomes accessible through the browser toolbar, providing a persistent interface for blockchain interaction.
