# 14.2 Understanding FreCx (Polygon network)

FreCx in Polygon is a token deployed on the Polygon network that represents FreCx in a native form. It is fully backed by FreCx tokens locked on the FreCx network.

For every unit of FreCx minted on Polygon:

* an equivalent amount of FreCx is locked on the FreCx chain

Similarly, when FreCx is burned in Polygon, 

* the corresponding FreCx is released back to the user

This mechanism ensures that FreCx(Polygon) maintains parity with FreCx and can be used seamlessly within the Polygon ecosystem.
